As the Division of Safety and Permanence (DSP) seeks to improve services and supports to children and families across the state, we are excited to announce the hiring of two positions within the Administrator’s Office.

To continue to strengthen our state’s federal and state reporting efforts, DSP has created a new Federal Relations Officer position. This position will be responsible for Wisconsin’s relationship with our federal partners, including Wisconsin’s Program Improvement Plan (PIP) and coordinating efforts related to the Children and Family Services Review (CFSR), as well as other key federal and state reporting and grant opportunities. We are excited to announce that Dave Berndt, will begin in this position on 2/14. Dave has over 8 years of experience working at DCF, most recently as DSP’s IV-E Policy and Program Analyst. Over that time, he has built critical relationships with key state and federal partners.

In addition to the Federal Liaison Officer Position, DSP has reimagined the existing Policy Initiatives Advisor role. This position will focus on helping support key policy areas across the Division, improve the flow of information across project areas, and strengthen communication and partnerships across the state with key stakeholders. Angi Krueger began in this role on 1/31/22. Angi is a Master’s level Social Worker, and brings over a decade of experience working in the field of child welfare, from direct practice to supervision and policy work. Since joining DCF in 2018, Angi has worked on policy and programs geared at keeping children and families safety together. As one of DSP’s Strategic Initiatives Coordinators, Angi spearheaded the Division’s strategic planning work around in-home services and oversaw the submission of Wisconsin’s 5-Year Prevention Plan.

Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Angi and Dave in their new roles.
